Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš will pay an official visit to Tashkent on April 29-30, according to a statement on the Czech government's website.

Babiš will be accompanied by his First Deputy and Minister of Industry and Trade Karel Havlíček, as well as a business delegation representing 50 companies from sectors including energy, transport, engineering, and defense.

The delegation will visit Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan from April 26 to 30. The main goal of the trip is to support Czech exports and strengthen bilateral trade ties, the statement said.

In Uzbekistan, a meeting with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev is planned, along with a Czech-Uzbek business forum.

“This business mission to the Caucasus reflects our government's priority—economic diplomacy. We need strong and stable partners outside the European Union as well, so our first trip outside the EU is to Azerbaijan, followed by Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. We want to boost our companies' exports and overall trade turnover, as these markets are growing in importance,” Babiš said.

Czech Ambassador to Uzbekistan Lubomír Frebort announced that during the visit, implementation of a Škoda project in railway transport will begin. The project involves supplying electric trains, assembling them in Uzbekistan, and gradually localizing production. A Škoda Academy for personnel training is expected to be opened at Tashkent State Transport University.

“The visit to Uzbekistan is expected to be the most successful. The main goal is to find new opportunities to expand our cooperation in investment, industry, economy, and trade,” the ambassador said.
