President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, during his visit to Fergana region, toured the Crown Ceramic joint venture in Kuwasay. The head of state examined the technological cycle of producing porcelain stoneware tiles designed to compete with leading global brands.

The plant, launched in 2025, focuses on deep processing of local resources. Currently, the use of local raw materials reaches 97 percent: feldspar and kaolin come directly from the Kuwasay and Angren deposits. Technological capacities allow the annual production of up to 8 million square meters of large-format porcelain stoneware in six sizes — a product previously rare for Central Asian and Eastern European markets.

Special attention is paid to digitalization and environmental standards. The introduction of energy-saving equipment reduced electricity consumption by 20 percent, while a closed-loop water treatment system and rainwater collection minimize the ecological footprint on the region.

Alongside current results, the president was presented with further development plans. Specifically, by September 2026, a $20 million glaze production facility is planned at Crown Ceramic. This will cover 85 percent of the plant's internal demand for imported materials, create additional jobs, and boost export potential.

The visit concluded that creating such high-value-added productions is a key factor in strengthening the regional economy and successful import substitution in the country's construction industry.
