Following talks held in Tashkent, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Andrej Babiš signed a joint declaration on advancing expanded cooperation.

A ceremony also took place for the signing of bilateral agreements, including on economic, industrial, scientific and technological cooperation, training of diplomatic personnel, joint design and support for creating a metrology laboratory, scientific and innovative cooperation in metrology, cooperation in geology, as well as on the supply of electric trains.

At the Kuksaroy residence, talks were held between Mirziyoyev and Babiš in a narrow format and with the participation of delegations from both countries. The current state and prospects for further development of practical cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Czech Republic were reviewed. Dynamic development of interaction in all areas was noted with satisfaction. Close contacts have been established at the level of governments, ministries and agencies, and business and humanitarian exchanges have intensified.

“Friendship groups” have been created in parliaments. The Intergovernmental Commission is working effectively. Trade turnover has almost doubled in recent years. Particular attention was paid to increasing the volume of mutual trade. The task was set to bring trade turnover to $1 billion, including by expanding the range of supplies.

The importance of regularly holding mutual days of culture and cinema, exhibitions and concerts, as well as increasing mutual tourist flow was emphasized. To this end, the issue of resuming direct flights between the capitals of the two countries will be worked out.

Prospects for cooperation in the field of organized labor migration were separately considered. An exchange of views also took place on international agenda issues.
