On May 5, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev chaired a meeting to discuss signage issues that negatively affect the business environment and have drawn objections from the public and entrepreneurs.
Under current regulations, in some cases, signs displaying a company name, type of activity, or trademark are classified as advertising, requiring a separate passport and payments. This creates additional administrative burdens for entrepreneurs and impacts the recognition of trade and service facilities, customer flow, and revenue.
In response, it was proposed that information about a business entity's name and type of activity placed on a building should not be considered advertising, and the requirement for a passport for such signs should be abolished.
Additionally, an initiative was put forward to gradually implement design requirements for advertising and other information signs, taking into account entrepreneurs' proposals, and to simplify the procedure for placing trademarks on vehicles owned by legal entities.
The head of state emphasized the need to reduce excessive barriers for entrepreneurship.
