As of May 8, the number of drivers who have accumulated 12 penalty points in Uzbekistan has reached 49, according to Zoyir Yuldoshev, head of the information service of the Traffic Safety Department (SBDD), speaking to Kun.uz.

The highest number of cases was recorded in Tashkent city — 29 drivers. Fergana region follows with 8 cases, and Bukhara region with 3. Tashkent and Andijan regions each have 2 cases, while Karakalpakstan, Samarkand, Namangan, Surkhandarya, and Khorezm regions each have 1 case.

Four regions — Navoi, Kashkadarya, Jizzakh, and Syrdarya — have yet to report any driver with 12 penalty points.

Yuldoshev explained that drivers whose licenses are revoked must now undergo theoretical and practical training at driving schools, rather than simply retaking the exam. The theoretical exam now requires answering 46 out of 50 questions correctly, up from the previous 18 out of 20.

Documents for all 49 cases have been submitted to judicial authorities. Under Article 34-1 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility, drivers who accumulate 12 penalty points within a year are deprived of their driving license for at least six months.
