Tashkent, Podrobno.uz. The flow of labor migration from Uzbekistan to Russia is showing a steady decline. Experts predict that the reduction in the number of migrants heading to Russia will not only continue but become more pronounced in the coming years.
This opinion was expressed by Bakhtiyor Ergashev, director of the Ma'no Research Initiative Center. According to him, the decline is already noticeable: the previous growth rates of labor migration are no longer observed. The expert emphasizes that the market has effectively reached its peak, after which a gradual decline began.
“The growth that was seen before is no longer there. Labor migration from Uzbekistan to the Russian Federation has long reached peak levels, and now there is a systematic decline,” Ergashev noted.
This trend may be linked to several factors, including changes in the external labor market: many countries around the world are offering Uzbek citizens legal employment and decent wages.
In particular, an agreement has been reached with the French Federation of Agricultural Producers FNSEA to attract Uzbek citizens for seasonal work, especially in viticulture. This summer, 50 Uzbek specialists will go to work in France.
Additionally, Uzbeks will be able to work in the meat processing industry in Germany.
