Citizens of Uzbekistan can obtain a Japanese visa free of charge – no consular fee is levied. Applications are accepted at the Embassy of Japan in Tashkent by prior online appointment.
Japan issues short-term and long-term visas for tourism, visiting relatives, business, study, and work. Uzbek citizens most commonly apply for a short-term tourist visa, which can be single-entry or multiple-entry.
There is no e-visa for Uzbek citizens – applications must be submitted in paper form. Online appointment booking is required, but documents are accepted in person or through a representative with a power of attorney.
Required documents for a tourist visa: passport (valid for at least 6 months), completed application form, color photo (45×35 mm), flight and hotel reservations or invitation, bank statement, and employment certificate. A detailed itinerary is also necessary.
The embassy does not specify a minimum amount of funds, but a daily budget of $100–150 (excluding accommodation) is recommended. Financial proof includes bank statements and income certificates.
The application form must be filled in English; errors or omissions may lead to rejection. Document submission hours: weekdays 9:30 AM–12:30 PM; passport collection: 2:30 PM–5:00 PM.
Standard processing time is 10 business days, but may be longer if additional checks are required. In case of refusal, reapplication is allowed only after 6 months.
