Under the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan, 100 citizens are being sent on a free Hajj pilgrimage as part of the special 'Presidential Hajj' program, the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan announced.

The group includes representatives from various fields, according to the board. First Deputy Chairman Khomijon Ishmetbekov stated that the selection of participants was carried out in strict accordance with established procedures.

As previously reported, on May 2, the first groups of pilgrims departing for Saudi Arabia to perform the Hajj rituals in the 2026 season were seen off in Tashkent. The farewell ceremony took place at the capital's Novza Mosque.
