On May 14-15, the 'National Industrial Chain' exhibition was held in Ahangaran, Tashkent region, focused on developing industrial cooperation, localizing production, and expanding collaboration between large industrial enterprises and local manufacturers.
The event was organized by the Agency for Industrial Cooperation and Public Procurement, the Ministry of Mining and Geology, the Tashkent regional administration, the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine, and the Electronic Cooperation Portal.
The main goal was to expand practical interaction between industrial enterprises and entrepreneurs, support import-substituting production, and increase localization levels. The exhibition showcased high-tech developments in mining and metallurgy, industrial startups, scientific projects, and products ready for localization.
Major industrial companies including Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Combine, Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine, Navoiuran, Uzbekistan Technological Metals Combine, Uzmetkombinat, and Uzbekkumir presented their production needs and cooperation opportunities with local suppliers.
Over 90 local manufacturers participated with their own stands, and more than 500 enterprise representatives attended to find new partners. Key highlights included B2B and B2G negotiations covering project financing, guaranteed purchases, and off-take contracts.
Bahodir Akhmedov, director of Angren Electro Prom, announced plans to launch production of stainless steel electrodes and welding wire in Uzbekistan. 'Today, imports of stainless steel electrodes exceed 1,000 tons per year. We decided to localize production. A 2-hectare land plot has been purchased, with total investment of $5 million,' he said. The project involves a Chinese investor. The company plans to produce over 4,000 tons of products annually and create about 50 jobs, with 30% of output destined for export to Central Asia.
Organizers implemented digital solutions: an interactive Touch panel system, a B2G stand for receiving business inquiries via QR codes tracked through a Telegram bot, and an interactive screen displaying real-time information on agreements and contract values.
The Agency for Industrial Cooperation and Public Procurement signed memorandums of cooperation with the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, the branch of the National Research Technological University 'MISIS', the University of Geological Sciences, and the Navoi State University of Mining and Technology. Additionally, major industrial enterprises signed agreements to retrain over 1,000 qualified specialists for businesses.
Sardor Juraev, a representative of Almalyk MMC, said the company's stand featured localized products, technological materials, automated control system components, energy equipment, and spare parts for mining machinery. 'The main goal is to show what is currently imported and support domestic manufacturers to produce these items locally,' he noted. He also reported that after launching the third copper processing plant, copper concentrate production increased, with plans to process an additional 60 million tons of ore by 2030.
Environmental technologies were also presented. Khasan Abdukadyrov, manager of Carbon Polymer, described an air filtration system developed with Chinese partners. 'Polluted air enters the unit, undergoes filtration, and then clean air is released through a special pipe,' he explained. The equipment can be used in oil and gas, mining, and industrial cities. The first project is under negotiation with oil and gas enterprises.
Over two days, registered participants exceeded 3,600. A total of 668 agreements were reached, with the total value of contracts amounting to approximately 1.5 trillion soums. The exhibition demonstrated that Uzbekistan's industrial sector is increasingly focusing on domestic technological solutions, new directions, and cooperation between business, industry, and science.
