The number of drivers in Uzbekistan who have accumulated more than 12 penalty points has reached 107, according to the information service of the Traffic Safety Department.

These drivers are expected to be deprived of their driving licenses through court proceedings. Afterwards, they will be required to complete mandatory training courses and retake both theoretical and practical driving exams.

The theoretical exam will consist of 50 questions instead of the usual 20, and drivers must answer at least 46 correctly to pass.

For reference, as of May 8, the number of drivers with over 12 penalty points stood at 49.

It should be recalled that starting June 1, 2025, penalty points are applied based on protocols issued by traffic patrol officers under 12 articles of the Code of Administrative Responsibility. From April 1, 2026, points will also be applied for four types of violations detected by automatic cameras: running a red light, violating stopping and parking rules, driving into oncoming traffic, and speeding.
