According to the Republican Center for Seismoprognotic Monitoring of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the epicenter was located in the Karakul district of the Bukhara region. The magnitude was 5.3, and the depth was 10 km.

The tremors were felt at 3-4 points in the Bukhara region (127 km from the epicenter) and at 2-3 points in the Navoi region (194 km from the epicenter).

The distance from the epicenter to Tashkent was 527 km to the southwest.
