President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a decree on the celebration of Eid al-Adha (Qurbon Hayit). The text of the document was published by the presidential press service.

According to the decree, the information from the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan that the first day of Eid al-Adha in 2026 falls on May 27 has been taken into account. The date is determined based on the religious calendar.

In accordance with Article 208 of the Labor Code, the first day of Eid al-Adha is declared a non-working holiday. Additionally, following the presidential decree of December 24, 2025, May 28–29 (Thursday and Friday) will be days off for all employees, and for those on a six-day workweek, May 30 (Saturday) will also be a day off.

Thus, regardless of the workweek type, all citizens will enjoy 5 consecutive days off. This allows the population to celebrate the holiday in a family setting and undertake trips.

The Council of Ministers of Karakalpakstan, regional and Tashkent city administrations, together with relevant agencies, are tasked with taking measures to celebrate Eid al-Adha in accordance with national traditions and customs, in a festive spirit. Local authorities are responsible for organizing holiday events.

The Tourism Committee and the Ministry of Transport have been instructed to create favorable conditions for trips to holy sites and historical landmarks. This decision underscores the state's attention to celebrating religious holidays and developing tourism.
