The Women's T20 Asia Cup final takes place on Sunday at the Dubai International Stadium, where record seven-time winners India face defending champions Sri Lanka. The 15-match competition in the United Arab Emirates is set for its closing act.

In a tournament largely defined by low-scoring contests, both Indian and Sri Lankan spin units have thrived. Deepti Sharma spearheads India's charge, while captain Chamari Athapaththu leads by example for Sri Lanka. The formidable top-order pairing of Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana has further strengthened India's title bid.

India have reached the final in every edition of the Women's Asia Cup they have played and are favourites to add another trophy. However, Sri Lanka pose a threat: they are one of only two sides to have beaten India in a title clash and are eager to retain the trophy they lifted two years ago.

India defeated Bangladesh by 40 runs in the first semifinal, while Sri Lanka beat Pakistan by four wickets in Friday's low-scoring thriller. The teams last met in a T20I on December 30, 2025, in Thiruvananthapuram, where India won by 15 runs, sweeping the series 5-0. India have won nine of their last 10 T20Is against Sri Lanka.

India are the most successful team in the Women's Asia Cup with seven titles (2004, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2012, 2016, 2022). Sri Lanka have won once, in 2024, beating India by eight wickets in the final.

India's openers Shafali (168 runs) and Mandhana (154 runs) are the tournament's top scorers. Deepti Sharma leads the wicket-taking charts with 11 wickets. Sri Lanka's Athapaththu also has 11 wickets. Sugandika Kumari has contributed six wickets, while Harsthitha Samarawickrama has scored 89 runs.

Deepti Sharma: "This team doesn't take any team lightly. We always think as a team, 'How we can do better in each and every game.'" Chamari Athapaththu: "If we can execute our plans in the final, I think we can beat any team."
