A tragic incident occurred on May 19 in the Dehkanabad district of the Kashkadarya region, where a young man went out to graze sheep in the afternoon and was later found dead after being swept away by a mudflow. The press secretary of the Prosecutor General, Khayot Shamsutdinov, reported this to Kun.uz.
The incident was reported at 8:20 PM when the district police department received a call that the body of an unknown man had been carried by a mudflow from a river in the village of Kurilish in the Yangi Hayot mahalla. An investigative team led by the district prosecutor arrived at the scene.
Preliminary investigation identified the deceased as citizen O.Sh., born in 2001. According to relatives, he left at around 3:00 PM to graze sheep. At that time, heavy rain fell in the village, triggering a mudflow. Hours later, the young man's body was brought by the water.
The district prosecutor's office is conducting pre-investigation measures. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, on May 19, heavy precipitation was observed in the Kamashi, Yakkabag, Dehkanabad, and Shakhrisabz districts of Kashkadarya. The mudflow temporarily closed an internal road in Kamashi and a bridge in Yakkabag.
