In Kokand, on May 20 at approximately 4:00 PM, a minor driving a Malibu-2 struck three 10-year-old schoolgirls on a pedestrian crossing on Amir Temur Street.

According to the Fergana Regional Department of Internal Affairs, the minor driver failed to navigate the traffic situation and hit the three girls who were crossing the road at a designated crosswalk.

All three children sustained injuries of varying severity. Despite medical efforts, one of the victims died in the hospital.

A criminal case has been opened against the teenager, who did not have a driver's license, under Article 266, Part 2 (Violation of traffic safety or vehicle operation rules). The suspect has been detained, and the investigation is ongoing.

The regional police appealed to parents to strengthen control over their children and never allow them to drive cars, warning that such violations often lead to irreparable losses.
