On May 21, heavy rainfall triggered mudslides in the mountainous and foothill areas of Uzbekistan's Navoi region. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the mudslides occurred between 13:45 and 15:40 local time in the Khatirchi, Karmana, and Nurota districts.

In Khatirchi district, a section of the highway was blocked by boulders. Several vehicles, including a Nexia-1, Cobalt, Nexia-3, and UAZ-469, as well as a number of residential houses, were damaged by the mudflows. Residents living near the Angidon, Langar, Kattasay, and Maydon streams were temporarily evacuated to safe areas.

In Karmana district, mudwater entered the garden plots and auxiliary structures of seven households. In Nurota district, mudflows were recorded in some areas but passed harmlessly through designated channels.

A total of 37 pieces of special equipment and 173 personnel were deployed to eliminate the consequences. Preliminary assessments indicate no serious damage to residential buildings, social infrastructure, or communication networks. No casualties have been reported.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations and relevant services are continuing cleanup operations. Videos of the mudslides are circulating on social media.
