Ahead of the upcoming Eid al-Adha (Qurbon Hayit) celebrations, the Uzbek government has announced a large-scale aid package for the needy. The proposal was presented to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on Thursday.
The initiatives will be funded by 690 billion soums allocated to the 'Vaqf' public charitable foundation. The funds are intended to support low-income families, disabled individuals, and the elderly.
Additionally, charity tables will be set up for socially vulnerable groups, and sacrificial rituals will be held at pilgrimage sites and religious educational institutions. These efforts aim to enhance the festive spirit and provide assistance to those in need.
