In the Namangan region of Uzbekistan, a one-year-old child fell into a pit latrine after being left unsupervised. The incident occurred on the evening of the previous day in the Muborak neighborhood of Uychin district.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES), rescuers arrived promptly at the scene. One of them descended into the pit and retrieved the child. Medical personnel provided first aid before handing the toddler over to relatives.
The child is now in good condition. The MES urges parents not to leave young children unattended.
This follows a previous incident where MES rescuers found a four-year-old boy alive after he was left behind in the mountains, following a lengthy search.
