Operatives of the Tashkent region customs department have stopped the illegal trafficking of medicines lacking quality certificates, Podrobno.uz reports.

The violation was detected during an operation at the Navoiy border customs post. Customs officers detained two individuals who had been under preliminary surveillance.

During inspection, it was found that the suspects had attempted to bring in the medications by attaching them to their bodies — on their abdomen and legs.

The search resulted in the seizure of approximately 10,200 units of unverified medicines. According to preliminary estimates, the total value of the confiscated batch amounts to nearly 160 million soums.

Currently, investigative actions are being carried out in accordance with established procedures.
