An investment agreement worth $400 million was signed between Tashkent and a Chinese company to improve the city's drainage system. The deal was inked during the 3rd Uzbekistan-China Interregional Forum in Xi'an, China.
Overall, investment and export agreements totaling over $3.5 billion were reached for Tashkent at the forum. Investment projects account for $3.35 billion, while export contracts amount to $156 million.
Financing is planned to be attracted by Chinese partners under the EPC+F model, without using state budget funds or government guarantees. Payments will be made gradually over the long term through the formation of new revenue sources for the city budget.
Following meetings with Chinese technology and industrial companies Jwise, Zhongke Honghu, CAS Cloud, and UMGG, investment cooperation agreements worth $130 million were signed.
Export contracts were also signed during the forum. It was previously reported that in December 2025, a master plan for Tashkent's drainage system was developed, including the construction of 150 km of closed drainage networks, repair of 197 km of canals and collectors, and construction of 63 km of new canals.
