The Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul has reported the repatriation of three underage Uzbek citizens, aged 12, 10, and 9, who were subjected to constant physical and psychological abuse by a relative.

An investigation revealed that the children were taken from Uzbekistan to Turkey, effectively interrupting their compulsory school education. Abroad, they were not enrolled in any educational institution and received only religious instruction.

It was also found that the children's parents are officially divorced, with the mother residing in Russia.

After the situation was identified, the minors were brought to the Consulate General, where they were interviewed with a psychologist present. Specialists assessed their emotional state, living conditions, and possible next steps. Following discussions about their future, a decision was made to repatriate the minors.

Measures were taken to appoint temporary guardianship, organize the children's return to their homeland, and subsequently reintegrate them into the educational system.

On May 25, the children returned to Uzbekistan accompanied by responsible officials. They are now under the guardianship of state agencies, which are handling their social protection, education, and restoration of legal rights.

Previously, Uzbek authorities repatriated over 60 children who had been left without guardianship abroad.
