Tashkent, Uzbekistan – Podrobno.uz. According to the report “Generation 2050 in Central Asia,” Uzbekistan's population is projected to reach 52 million by 2050, and by the end of this decade, the figure is expected to exceed 40 million.

The report specifically addresses children. Currently, they remain one of the largest population groups, but their share will gradually decline. By mid-century, the number of children under 18 could be around 16.4 million.

UNICEF notes that Uzbekistan still maintains a demographic advantage: the share of the working-age population will grow. However, this window of opportunity will not remain open indefinitely, so experts link future growth to investments in education, employment, healthcare, and social protection.

A few years ago, the UN released its own forecast, which stated that Uzbekistan's population could reach 74.2 million by the end of the century, with the average age rising to 39 years.
