A 23-year-old man drowned in the Pop district of the Namangan region. The tragedy occurred on May 28.

According to available information, the victim was vacationing with family members on the banks of the Chadaksay River and decided to swim. His body has not yet been found.

The press service of the General Prosecutor's Office of Uzbekistan confirmed earlier reports on social media. The district prosecutor's office is conducting a pre-investigation check.

Rescuers from the district emergency management department have been involved in search operations. A video circulating online shows the scene—a recreation area with benches by the water.

In the video, a woman reports that a visitor jumped into the river and that they have been unable to find him for a day.
