In the Paxtachi district of the Samarkand region, an electric scooter fell into a canal, resulting in the deaths of four minors. The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported the incident on May 31 at 8:25 PM.

A cargo electric scooter, carrying 8 people, lost control and plunged into the “Narpay” canal. Rescuers arriving at the scene found that 4 of the 8 victims had been saved by local residents. A large-scale search and rescue operation was launched.

During the operation, the remaining 4 individuals were recovered from the canal deceased. Investigation revealed that a 42-year-old resident of the “Ukrach” mahalla had loaded the scooter with his wife, himself, and 6 minor children from a neighboring household for a ride.

The Ministry clarified that the driver, his wife, and two children were rescued, while the four deceased were all children. The district prosecutor's office, internal affairs department, and emergency services are investigating the cause of the accident.
