Tashkent, Uzbekistan – AN Podrobno.uz. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Kmita Polymers enterprise in the Chirchik chemical-industrial technopark. The plant, in cooperation with Russia's Polymers company, produces special and wide-range polyethylene films.
According to the presidential press service, the facility covers 6,670 square meters and is equipped with Italian machinery. The products are import-substituting, worth $9.5 million.
Total investment in the two-stage expansion program amounts to $15.2 million. The first phase saw $7.4 million invested. Fifty jobs have been created, with numbers expected to grow. In 2025, the plant produced goods worth 115 billion soums. Exports to Central Asian countries reached $6 million.
The polymer products are used as local raw materials by packaging systems of major brands such as Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Flash, Chernogolovka, Ackerman, Asl Oyna, Biolife, and Family Group. The president noted that the packaging industry is developing dynamically and impacts the food industry, construction, pharmaceuticals, and agriculture.
Earlier, the president reviewed proposals to expand financial support for small and medium businesses and improve access to financial services.
