An incident at School No. 275 in the Mirzo Ulugbek district of Tashkent, where a computer science teacher allegedly beat two students, has sparked public outrage. Initially, only one victim, Rizqiddin R., was reported, but it later emerged that a second student, Hasan Gafurov, was also injured and remains hospitalized in serious condition.

The incident occurred on May 19 during a lesson. The teacher, Zokir Omonov, claimed that the students disrupted the class and disobeyed his instructions. He stated that he first struck Rizqiddin and then beat Hasan, allegedly in self-defense of his honor.

On May 26, a meeting was held at the school with the participation of the Interior Ministry leadership. The head of the Tashkent City Police Department, Ravshan Sultankhodjayev, announced the closure of the criminal case against the teacher. First Deputy Interior Minister Rustam Jurayev reportedly stated that teachers are “under the protection of the president and the administration.”

However, the mother of the injured student, Iroda Temirova, claims that the school administration is covering up details. According to her, video footage of the beating was deleted, and doctors were falsely informed that her son had suffered an epileptic seizure. Hasan has been hospitalized for 16 days, and his speech and motor functions have not fully recovered.

Witness and Hasan's twin brother, Husan Gafurov, said the teacher allegedly did not conduct lessons properly and was often busy with his own affairs. He demands the release of full classroom surveillance footage, claiming that the videos circulated online were edited.

Iroda Temirova expressed dissatisfaction that state authorities have not listened to the victims' side. She demands legal punishment for the teacher. “The law should work equally for everyone,” she said.
