Social media has been circulating information that an internal affairs officer committed sexual acts against a minor.
According to the Andijan regional prosecutor's office, a pre-investigation check was conducted in the Kurgan-Tepa district regarding the disappearance of 15-year-old U.Ya., who left home on June 3 in an unknown direction and did not return.
The investigation revealed that S.B., who worked as an inspector-social worker at the Center for Social and Legal Assistance to Minors under the regional Department of Internal Affairs, took U.Ya. to one of the high-rise buildings in Andijan and had sexual intercourse with her.
On June 4, a criminal case was opened against S.B. under paragraph 'c' of Part 3 of Article 128 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan (Sexual intercourse with a person under sixteen years of age by a person performing duties of upbringing, education and/or care for the victim, as well as an employee of an educational, upbringing, medical or other institution legally entrusted with supervision of the victim). The sanction of this article provides for imprisonment from eight to ten years.
The suspect has been remanded in custody. Currently, preliminary investigative actions are being carried out by the prosecutor's office of the Kurgan-Tepa district. The progress of the investigation is under the control of the Andijan regional prosecutor's office.
Another incident occurred in the Denau district of Surkhandarya region. The suspect is A.R., a former inspector-psychologist for juvenile affairs of the crime prevention department of the Denau district police.
A criminal case has been opened against him under Article 128 (Sexual intercourse with a person under sixteen), Part 3 of Article 129 (Depraved acts against a person under sixteen), and Part 1 of Article 206 (Abuse of power or official authority) of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan.
