Governor of Andijan region Shuhratbek Abdurakhmanov has appointed new deputies, according to the regional administration's press service.

Elmurod Ro‘ziboyevich Ismoilov was appointed deputy governor and head of the regional department for investments, industry and trade. Born in 1987 in Asaka district, he graduated from Andijan Agricultural Institute in 2014. Prior to his appointment, Ismoilov served as head of the secretariat for investment, industry and trade issues at the Andijan regional administration. He replaces Ilkhom Sobirov in this position.

Abdusattor Khalimjonovich Otabayev was appointed deputy governor for relations with public and religious organizations. Born in 1976 in Turakurgan district of Namangan region, he graduated from Namangan Engineering Pedagogical Institute in 1998. Before his appointment, Otabayev served as a contract serviceman in military unit No. 51411.

Earlier, Gazeta reported that the Andijan regional prosecutor's office had opened a criminal case against the previous deputy governor for tourism, culture, cultural heritage and mass communications, Isomiddin Ismanov. Subsequently, the State Security Service released a video showing his arrest while allegedly receiving $50,000. In the footage, the official is seen counting money and then telling the person who handed him the dollars: "This is called a debt. There is such a thing, you know?"
