A tragic incident occurred in the Payariq district of Samarkand region, where a child born in 2023, identified as R.M., died after falling into a water reservoir located on the grounds of a nearby public school. The child was a pupil of the private preschool institution 'Yulduzcha'.

According to the regional Department of Preschool and School Education, the incident took place on June 5 in the 'Sarbazor' neighborhood. The reservoir was reportedly built for emergency use.

The district prosecutor's office has launched a pre-investigation inquiry into the incident. Authorities are working to determine the exact circumstances and causes of the tragedy.
