Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin will begin a two-day working visit to Uzbekistan on June 16. The trip includes talks with the country's leadership and participation in the 5th Tashkent International Investment Forum.
During the visit, negotiations with Uzbek officials are planned. The sides intend to discuss topical issues of Russian-Uzbek cooperation in trade, economic, investment, scientific, technological, and cultural-humanitarian spheres.
Special attention will be paid to promoting joint projects in energy, including peaceful nuclear energy, as well as in industry, transport infrastructure, and agriculture. Key areas of cooperation include the construction of a nuclear power plant, which was launched in St. Petersburg by the presidents of Russia and Uzbekistan, the development of a pipeline system for Russian gas supplies, and plans for electricity exports.
Mishustin will also take part in the 5th Tashkent International Investment Forum, one of the largest business platforms in Central Asia aimed at attracting foreign investment. The main sessions of the forum will be held on June 17.
Mishustin's last official visit to Uzbekistan took place in September 2024. The Russian prime minister maintains regular contacts with Uzbek Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov and participates in joint events under the EAEU and CIS. In April this year, Aripov and Mishustin held the sixth meeting of the Joint Commission in Moscow.
