Within the framework of the Tashkent International Investment Forum, Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with President and Chairman of the US Export-Import Bank (Exim Bank) John Yovanovich and Chief Executive Officer of the International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) Ben Black, the presidential press service reported.
At the beginning of the meeting, the high-ranking guests conveyed greetings and best wishes from US President Donald Trump to the head of state.
The negotiations covered in detail the participation of these institutions in financing strategic high-tech projects in Uzbekistan, including infrastructure development, critical mineral extraction, energy, artificial intelligence implementation, and digitalization.
"In the area of cooperation with the US Exim Bank, an agreement was reached to accelerate joint projects to modernize the energy grid," the statement said.
Attention was paid to further developing the provision of export credits for initiatives of local entrepreneurs in priority sectors.
The DFC's initiatives to support healthcare projects and launch a joint investment platform aimed at modernizing the energy sector and infrastructure were supported.
The need to move to the practical stage of implementing major infrastructure projects was emphasized, including the construction of a new international airport in Tashkent, a modern medical complex in the Fergana region, a digital bank, data centers, and dry ports.
At the end of the meeting, an agreement was reached to adopt a joint "roadmap" to promote the discussed investment and technology projects.
Also, on the eve of the fifth Tashkent International Investment Forum, Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with a delegation of leading US companies.
The meeting was attended by US Exim Bank President and Chairman John Yovanovich, DFC CEO Ben Black, Chairman of the US-Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce Carolyn Lamm, as well as heads of corporations such as Air Products, Cove Capital, Templeton Global Investments, Boeing, 77 Construction, BlackRock, FLS, Visa, JP Morgan, Meta, GULF, and representatives of several other companies.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev outlined a number of relevant areas for further development of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
It was noted that attention is focused on promoting specific projects in areas such as critical mineral extraction and processing, energy, metallurgy, finance, artificial intelligence, digital technologies, and many others.
The heads of major US companies expressed gratitude to the President of Uzbekistan for the favorable conditions created for effective investor activity and outlined their specific proposals and plans.
At the end of the roundtable, a ceremony of exchanging bilateral documents with leading US companies took place.
