The United States has announced the American members of the US-Uzbekistan Business and Investment Council. The new composition was unveiled on the sidelines of the Tashkent International Investment Forum.
According to the US Embassy in Uzbekistan, the council includes DFC Vice President Bethany Akilina Brez, US Exim Bank Senior Vice President Sarah Witten, Assistant Secretary of Commerce David Vogel, Assistant Secretary of State for Economic and Energy Affairs Caleb Orr, and US Ambassador Jonathan Henick.
The council was established in April 2026 in Washington. Its co-chairs are US Special Envoy for South and Central Asia Sergio Gor and Head of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan Saida Mirziyoyeva.
The new mechanism will provide American companies with direct access to financing and trade support for major projects in Uzbekistan. Special attention will be given to cooperation in critical minerals, technology, energy, and industry. The council will strengthen the institutional framework for long-term US business presence.
Earlier, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with heads of US financial institutions — Exim Bank President John Yovanovich and DFC CEO Ben Black. The talks were held as part of the Tashkent International Investment Forum.
