A video circulated on social media showing a man stripping off his clothes and demonstratively tearing a 2,000-soum banknote during a concert at the Tudakul recreation area in Navoi region on June 13.

The incident sparked widespread public outcry, leading to the swift arrest of the 25-year-old offender by law enforcement authorities.

In court, the suspect fully confessed to his actions, explaining that he lost control due to alcohol consumption.

The court found him guilty under Article 183 of the Administrative Code (petty hooliganism) and sentenced him to 15 days of administrative detention. He is also required to pay 927,000 soums for the costs of his stay in a special detention facility.

Initially, police also attempted to charge him with violating the law on state symbols, but the court dismissed that charge, as national currency is not classified as a state symbol under the law.
