On Thursday morning, several areas of the capital hosted live broadcasts of Uzbekistan's first World Cup match against Colombia on large screens.
Despite the early hour of 07:00, residents flocked to squares and parks to support the national team. A heavy downpour that began near the end of the first half failed to dampen the fans' enthusiasm.
The newspaper captured the exciting moments of fans witnessing this historic event at four locations in Tashkent.
Among the attendees were First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Rustam Mirzaev and Tashkent mayor Shavkat Umurzakov.
Uzbekistan's national team will play its next group stage matches against Portugal on June 23 at 22:00 and against DR Congo on June 28 at 04:30.
The Tashkent city administration has announced the locations of the big screens for the matches. One screen will be installed in each district of the capital, as well as at the Bunyodkor Stadium.
Additionally, 'Fan Zones' will be organized in schools across 208 districts and cities of Uzbekistan, where students, parents, and other fans can watch the national team's matches live on big screens.
