The Traffic Management Center (ЦОДД) has optimized the traffic scheme on Abdulla Qadiri Street in Tashkent. The changes affect a section where drivers coming from Ecopark and intending to turn towards Movarounnahr and Mahatma Gandhi streets previously had to take a long detour.

Before the changes, motorists had to drive more than two kilometers to make a U-turn at a permitted location. After the optimization, drivers can avoid the unnecessary detour. Now, a U-turn requires only about 500 meters — a fourfold reduction, or nearly 75%.

The changes also significantly reduce time costs. Previously, a U-turn took an average of six to eight minutes; now the maneuver can be completed in about one and a half to two minutes — each driver saves four to six minutes per turn.

The Traffic Management Center notes that the effect will be especially noticeable given the high traffic volume on this section. Thousands of cars use this route daily. Reducing distance and travel time will allow drivers to reach their destinations faster and also reduce the load on neighboring streets previously used for detours.

The agency emphasized that work to improve traffic organization in the capital continues. Targeted changes to traffic schemes are designed to make routes more convenient and safer for all road users.

Earlier, it was reported that a dedicated lane of category "A" appeared on the section from the "Buyuk Ipak Yuli" metro station to the intersection with Salom Street, serving more than 10 bus routes.
