A driver was killed in a traffic accident involving a Cobalt car in the Tomdi district of Navoiy region, the regional Internal Affairs Department reported.

According to the report, on June 10, the driver of the Cobalt fell asleep while driving due to fatigue, causing the accident.

The driver received medical assistance but died in a medical facility despite doctors' efforts.

An analysis of the incident was conducted at the driver's workplace, where recommendations were made: avoid driving while tired, do not speed, do not embark on long trips without rest after work, and use public transport when necessary.

According to the Internal Affairs Department, since the beginning of this year, 10 traffic accidents related to drivers falling asleep at the wheel have occurred in Navoiy region. As a result, three people died and 12 others sustained various injuries.

Earlier, a driver died after an accident involving a Damas in Samarkand region. He was driving on the shoulder to overtake and collided with the rear of a truck.
