A large sheep breeding cluster worth $35 million will be established in the Namangan region. Once fully operational, it will enable the annual production of up to 40,000 tons of high-quality meat products.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed the project during a visit to the region. The cluster will be located on a 10-hectare site in the Turakurgan district and will be implemented in three stages.

The first stage involves importing 15,000 head of breeding sheep from abroad, while the second stage will increase the herd by another 35,000 head. High-productivity breeds such as "Arashan", "Gissar", and "Edilbay" have been selected for breeding and will be adapted to local climatic conditions.

The introduction of modern animal husbandry technologies and scientific approaches is expected to significantly increase meat production volumes and improve quality. According to the project, sheep weighing 40–50 kilograms will be intensively fattened for three months, reaching a weight of 100 kilograms. This will allow obtaining up to 60–70 kilograms of meat from each animal.

Productivity is expected to increase by 45–50 percent compared to traditional livestock methods. The project also provides for the creation of 280 permanent jobs and employment for members of 95 low-income families.

In addition to production facilities, the complex will include logistics services, veterinary and service points, as well as retail outlets for direct sales to consumers. This will form a full cycle of meat production and sales.

The head of state noted the project's potential for developing livestock farming, saturating the domestic market with quality meat, and increasing employment, instructing to study the possibility of replicating this experience in other regions of the country.
