A tragic road accident occurred in the Andijan region involving students on their way to the 'Andijan Regiment' event. One student died and several were hospitalized.

The incident was reported by a user in the comments under a post by regional governor Shuhrat Abdurakhmanov on Instagram. According to the report, the accident involved students from School No. 14 in Asaka district. One student died, while others were admitted to intensive care.

The Andijan Regional Traffic Safety Department told Daryo that the accident happened on June 23. The Asaka district education department had arranged a separate bus for students to prepare for the event. However, a group of students arbitrarily traveled in a Damas vehicle, which collided with a ZIL truck.

Despite doctors' efforts, one student died. The condition of the others is stable. The investigation department of the Asaka district internal affairs office has launched an inquiry.

For context, the 'Andijan Regiment' event featured 20,000 participants simultaneously performing a dance, setting a Guinness World Record. Photos released by the regional administration showed children among the participants.
