President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree awarding a group of media workers on the occasion of the Day of Press and Mass Media Workers, celebrated on June 27.
The list of awardees includes Farxod Abdullayev, host of the Sevimli TV channel; writer and publicist Tulkun Kazakbayev; Azizaxon Soliyeva, editor-in-chief of the Buvayda Ko‘zgusi newspaper; blogger Zuhra Atabekova (Zuhra_buvi); TASS correspondent Valeriy Biryukov; Lutfulla Suvonov, correspondent for Yangi O‘zbekiston newspaper; Shoxrux Majidov, correspondent for Kun.uz; and many others.
According to the decree, the awards recognize contributions to “the development of freedom of speech and press, ensuring citizens’ constitutional rights in the information sphere, and strengthening principles of openness and transparency in state and public administration.”
The document also highlights their role in protecting national interests in the global information space, covering democratic reforms and achievements of New Uzbekistan, and training highly qualified personnel for modern journalism.
The list includes 35 individuals, such as TV operators, editors, proofreaders, producers, and bloggers, representing both state and private media outlets.
