In the first quarter of 2026, Uzbekistan's mainline railway transport carried 28 million tons of cargo, a 4.3% increase compared to the same period last year.

According to the National Statistics Committee, the most transported goods were various ores – 3.9 million tons, followed by oil products – 3.4 million tons, grain and mill products – 3.3 million tons, coal – 2.7 million tons, ferrous metals – 1.8 million tons, and construction materials – 1.5 million tons.

Additionally, nearly 800,000 tons of chemical and mineral fertilizers, over 710,000 tons of cement, almost 630,000 tons of timber, 266,000 tons of potatoes, vegetables, and fruits, and 8.9 million tons of other cargo were transported by rail.

Earlier, it was reported that in 2025, Uzbekistan's railway freight volume reached 106.4 million tons, while transit shipments exceeded 12 million tons.
