Tashkent, Uzbekistan – Podrobno.uz. The feature film 'Uzbek Girl' ('Uzbek qizi'), dedicated to the feat of the Uzbek people during World War II, was shown on regional TV channels in the Leningrad Region. The initiative was implemented by the Consulate General of Uzbekistan with the support of the regional administration.
The screenings were timed to the 81st anniversary of Victory in World War II. On the Day of Remembrance and Sorrow, observed annually in Russia on June 22, the film aired on channels 'LenTV24', 'VGTRK', 'Kirishi', 'TERA studio', and 'Syas TV'.
According to organizers, the screenings received positive feedback from viewers. The film is noted for preserving historical memory and strengthening respect for the contribution of Uzbekistan's residents to the common victory over fascism.
Viewers noted that the film reminds of the humanitarian mission of the Uzbek people, who during the war accepted and sheltered hundreds of thousands of evacuees, supporting them in difficult times.
Earlier, the Tashkent House of Photography opened a solo exhibition 'Children of War' by People's Artist of Uzbekistan, academician of the Academy of Arts Anvar Mamajanov. The exposition was timed to the 85th anniversary of the start of World War II.
