Tashkent, Uzbekistan — Podrobno.uz. A family of Uzbek citizens who found themselves in a difficult situation in Dubai has been allowed to leave the UAE without paying fines for migration violations totaling approximately $7,500. The decision was reached following negotiations between Uzbekistan's Consulate General in Dubai and the relevant authorities of the country.

According to the Dunyo news agency, on June 25, the head of the family contacted the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Dubai, stating that he, his wife, and child were in a difficult situation and unable to return home on their own.

The family reportedly arrived in Dubai on December 5, 2025, in search of seasonal work but failed to find stable employment. In early January, the couple purchased plane tickets to Uzbekistan but missed their flight.

Subsequently, they relied on odd jobs, but as the situation in the Middle East worsened, they lost their ability to earn a living. The family was forced to temporarily stay in various mosques.

Meanwhile, their visa-free stay in the UAE expired. Each of the three family members was fined 9,000 dirhams (about $2,500) for violating migration laws, bringing the total debt to 27,000 dirhams (approximately $7,500).

Following negotiations, the family was allowed to leave the country without paying the fines. Additionally, with assistance from the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children, plane tickets were purchased for the couple and their child on the Dubai–Tashkent route. They safely returned to Uzbekistan on June 26.

Earlier, six Uzbek citizens who found themselves in severe financial and social hardship in Bulgaria were repatriated. The repatriation was organized by Uzbekistan's Consulate General in Istanbul and the Migration Agency.
