Uzbekistan is set to launch a new center for training personnel in the field of nuclear energy. According to Podrobno.uz, the platform will prepare specialists for the nuclear programs of Uzbekistan and Central Asian countries.
The center will be based at the Tashkent branch of the National Research Nuclear University "MEPhI". Its main task is to provide the nuclear industry with qualified personnel to implement Uzbekistan's nuclear energy program.
The center will focus on training, retraining, and advanced training of specialists, conducting scientific research and applied developments, fostering cooperation with leading foreign universities and research organizations, introducing modern educational programs and developing laboratory facilities, as well as organizing international projects, seminars, and exchange programs.
The center is expected to become a platform for regional cooperation. Specialists from Central Asian countries will be able to undergo training and practical preparation there, including on modern simulators of nuclear power plant equipment.
Earlier, the Committee for Industrial, Radiation and Nuclear Safety of Uzbekistan issued a license for the construction of a power unit with a RITM-200N nuclear installation.
