FIFA has announced the results of the vote for the most beautiful goal of the group stage. According to the results, the first place was taken by a goal from Uzbekistan national team striker Eldor Shomurodov, scored in the third round match against DR Congo.

The Uzbek forward received 36% of the votes, beating out other contenders such as world football stars Vinicius Junior, Kylian Mbappe, and Lionel Messi.

Shomurodov's goal became one of the brightest moments for the Uzbekistan national team in their debut World Cup appearance.
