The Department under the General Prosecutor's Office has uncovered new fraud cases involving promises to send citizens for work and study in South Korea and Canada. The criminal schemes were revealed during pre-investigation checks conducted by the agency's territorial divisions.

In the Tashkent region, department employees established that a previously convicted citizen fraudulently obtained $12,000 from two individuals, promising to arrange their trip to South Korea.

Another case was recorded in the Fergana region, where employees of the Kuva city department caught a man who promised to help a local resident enroll in a South Korean higher education institution and obtain an entry visa. He took $11,000 for his services. During investigative actions, $200 of that amount was returned.

In the Pakhtaabad district of the Andijan region, the local department division uncovered similar fraud by a citizen who also had a prior conviction. Under the pretext of preparing necessary documents for two citizens to travel to Canada and South Korea, he fraudulently appropriated a total of $4,945.

Criminal cases have been initiated on all these facts under relevant articles of the Criminal Code, and investigative actions are currently underway.
