Uzbekistan has introduced amendments and additions to the classifier of higher education directions and specialties. Starting now, bachelor's and master's programs will train specialists in green economy, climate change, drones, robotics, sustainable urban planning, international energy policy, and other modern fields. This was announced by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation.
The ministry stated that the corresponding order has been registered with the Ministry of Justice. According to the document, the changes are aimed at adapting the higher education system to the demands of the modern labor market and training competitive specialists for promising sectors of the economy.
At the bachelor's level, the following new educational directions have been introduced: green economy, climate change, drones, robotics, sustainable urban planning, international energy policy, and others.
At the master's level, the following new specialties have been opened: green economy, climate change, drones, robotics, sustainable urban planning, international energy policy, and others.
In addition, a number of technical changes were made to the classifier. Specifically, bachelor's position 760 ("Psychological and educational support of service activities (psychologist)") was renamed to "Psychological and educational support of service activities"; master's specialty under position 766 ("State military administration") was approved as "State and military administration"; and position 799 ("Command-engineering activities for the operation of detection and security systems") was removed from the classifier.
It is worth recalling that admission to bachelor's programs at higher education institutions and vocational schools in Uzbekistan took place from June 5 to June 25. The admission process, as before, is carried out in two stages — based on the principle of "test first, then selection."
Starting July 1, admission to master's specialties at state higher education institutions for the 2026/2027 academic year began. Documents are accepted until July 30 online via the my.edu.uz platform.
For reference: Presidential Decree No. PF-43 of July 18, 2025, approved the parameters of the state order for admission to bachelor's and master's programs at state higher education institutions for the 2025/2026 academic year and the following 3 academic years.
