️ President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on July 6 reviewed a report on the preparation of the oil and gas sector for the autumn-winter season of 2026-2027, according to the presidential press service. During the presentation, measures to ensure stable energy supply to the population, social facilities, and economic sectors during the cold period were discussed.

️ Mirziyoyev outlined tasks related to the supply of natural and liquefied gas, repair of main and regional gas networks, formation of fuel reserves, and preparation of emergency response teams. Special attention was paid to the gas supply system: before the start of the season, it is planned to replace 53.7 km of defective sections of main gas pipelines, as well as to overhaul 77 gas pumping units at compressor stations.

️ To improve gas supply to 220,000 households in 881 mahallas and reduce technological losses, the gas distribution system will be converted from three-stage to two-stage. Additionally, capital repairs and reconstruction of 711.9 km of gas networks and 400 gas distribution points are planned.

️ The issue of supplying liquefied gas to the population and social facilities was separately considered. During the autumn-winter period, the supply of 325,700 tons of liquefied gas is envisaged, of which 8,200 tons will be directed to 104,700 consumers in 229 hard-to-reach settlements.

️ Fuel reserves are also being formed for the upcoming season. For December-January, it is planned to create a reserve of 120,000 tons of gasoline (last year the reserve was estimated at 65,000 tons). During the heating season, 4.16 million tons of coal are expected to be delivered to thermal power plants (last year 4.9 million tons were planned).

️ Repair work will be carried out at 90 technological units at enterprises of the Uzbekneftegaz system. As noted in the presentation, this should guarantee uninterrupted operation of production capacities and stable supply of energy resources to the population and economic sectors.

️ The president emphasized that preparatory work should not be limited to the oil and gas sector but should be carried out in cooperation with the energy and utility sectors. To this end, it was instructed to organize the activities of republican and regional commissions, coordinate preparation processes, and establish constant monitoring of their progress.

️ Responsible officials were instructed to strictly monitor the implementation of the planned measures, complete preparations for the autumn-winter season in a timely and high-quality manner, and ensure stable supply of natural and liquefied gas and other fuels to the population and social facilities.

️ In the first five months of this year, gas production amounted to 15.8 billion cubic meters, which is 14% (2.6 billion cubic meters) less than in the same period of 2025 (18.4 billion). In May, 3.2 billion cubic meters of gas were produced, 4.6% lower than in May of the previous year. In April, the monthly decline was 18.8%.

️ For comparison: in January-May 2019, production volume reached 25.9 billion cubic meters, which is 10.1 billion cubic meters or 64% more than the current figure.

️ In January-May, coal production amounted to 1.6 million tons, down 32.5% compared to the same period last year (2.37 million tons). In May, 300,000 tons of coal were produced, which is 49.9% less than in May 2025. This was one of the sharpest declines among the main types of energy resources.
