Uzbekistan Airports has joined the international Airport Carbon Accreditation program, under which airports assess and certify their efforts to manage and reduce carbon emissions.

The international airports of Samarkand, Urgench, Namangan, Fergana, Nukus, Termez, Karshi, and Navoi have received Level 1 accreditation, confirming they have conducted inventory and independent verification of operational emissions.

Tashkent Airport has achieved Level 2 accreditation, which requires implementing measures to reduce operational emissions.

Chairman of Uzbekistan Airports Javlonbek Umarkhodjaev stated: “Achieving Airport Carbon Accreditation is an important milestone in the sustainable transformation of the Uzbekistan Airports network. Although this recognition is of great importance to us, we see it as the beginning of a long-term journey to further strengthen sustainable development and improve environmental performance.”

Earlier, Uzbekistan Airports reported growth in passenger traffic, flight numbers, and cargo transportation in the first quarter of 2026.
