Uzbekistan has simplified the procedure for importing mobile devices from abroad. Passengers can now fill out a customs declaration online directly at the airport, and data for registering the phone in the UzIMEI system will be transmitted automatically.
According to the Customs Committee, to complete the declaration, it is enough to scan a QR code placed at the airport. After entering passport data, the passenger's information is loaded automatically. Then you need to scan or manually enter the device's IMEI code, after which the system will determine its brand, model, year of manufacture, and other characteristics.
After submitting the declaration, the phone registration in the UzIMEI system begins simultaneously. If a customs fee is required, it can be paid immediately through the same service without switching to other platforms.
The committee reminded that phones imported from abroad must be declared. Otherwise, it will be impossible to register the device in the UzIMEI system, or a single customs fee of 30% of the device's value will have to be paid.
According to the agency, in the first half of 2026, more than 374,000 mobile devices were brought into the country through border customs posts, of which over 321,000 cost less than $1,000. Thus, thanks to the new service, the majority of passengers will be able to complete the process without queues and without personal contact with customs officers.
