️ Uzbekistan's National Agency for Prospective Projects (NAPP) has approved regulations governing the registration and operation of residents in the Besqala Mining Valley special mining zone, established in the Karakalpakstan region. The document was registered by the Ministry of Justice on July 8, 2026.

️ The new rules define the procedure for obtaining resident status, conditions for mining activities, requirements for zone participants, and rules for electricity use. The mining zone covers the entire territory of the Republic of Karakalpakstan.

️ Only legal entities registered and operating in Karakalpakstan are eligible for resident status. No state fees or other charges are levied when submitting an application. A decision on registration or refusal is made within 30 days after document submission.

️ Residents are permitted to use electricity from the Unified Electric Power System, but at a double tariff. Additionally, electricity generated from renewable energy sources, hydrogen power plants, and unprofitable or low-yield fields within the zone may also be used.
